OUR VIEW ON RACE & EQUITY

As white, able-bodied, CIS, hetero, privileged consultants, we recognize and acknowledge the role that our field – organization and leadership development – has played and continues to play in perpetuating inequitable, harmful, oppressive, and racist practices in organizations the world over. We continue to learn about the ways in which we have been complicit in these practices now and throughout the course of our work and lives. We are dedicated to doing the work that makes us better anti-racists as we strive to be allies in creating a more just, equitable, and liberated world.

Part of our work is in recognizing where it makes sense for us to stand back and let BIPOC consultants and facilitators step in. Part of our work is in dedicating a percentage of our revenue to BIPOC-led organizations. Part of our work is in learning to be better anti-racist consultants and facilitators by developing our capacities to hold space for and center people of all heritages and backgrounds in whatever we work we do. Part of our work is participating in and learning how to skillfully and lovingly facilitate conversations about race, oppression, and marginalization.

We are grateful for our teachers and mentors at Holistic Resistance – Aaron Johnson, Porsha Beed, Dylan Wilder Quinn, and Jennie Pearl, who led us through many a program and experience, including Disrupting Our Whiteness, Facilitator Training, Deep Dives, song circles, workshops, and building earth-domes-of-resistance. Their mentorship and guidance has allowed us to be in inquiry about how we can better and differently partner with people.

We also hold deep gratitude for the other teachers we’ve had a chance to study with and/or learn from. This includes Reverend angel Kyodo williams, Anna Brown Griswold, adrienne maree brownLayla Saad, Resmaa Menakem, and many, many more.

We are committed to doing our work every day to be in accountability, undo the conditioning of white supremacy, and create racial and social justice in our world.
